How can we remove this? In the Software Setting, there is no such Shortcut defined. That is a great question. It is something that is not explained in the best way in SnagIt or how to do it. I have provided a screenshot with the steps I used to accomplish this to not have it open when I click on the Print Screen Button on the keyboard. As you can see in the Step 3 image this is where you will see Add a Hotkey.
If you do not click in that area and add one then it will not use anything for capture and you would have to manually hit the Red Capture Button. I hope this helps you a little bit and if you have any questions feel free to ask. This worked for me and I hope that is what you are looking for.
I personally keep my Print Screen Button to have it open as that is just my way of working and I use SnagIt on a daily basis. Let us know and thanks for posting. But I notices this is a userbased setting. Do you have any idea how this can be removed for all users on the computer in general? Kind Regards. I am not sure as to how you could change it for all users as this would be the user-based setting as I have explained for every user.
It might be something worth the time to put in a Support Ticket to TechSmith and see if they have a solution or way of accomplishing that as it could be as simple as a Registry Setting somewhere but I am not positive on that. If you find out please post that solution back here for others who might want to know how to accomplish this task. Sorry I could not be of more help on that issue.
