I wouldn’t use this to learn AutoCAD though. There are other books out there that are geared more to get you started. I feel this more for somebody that at least has some experience with the program. Also a decent book to study up on certification test. Covers commands and guides you step by step through processes. The index and appendix are great resources for me. Finding obscure commands when you need them is vital at times. It is a good reference tool so far. I needed something because I’ve been out of the force for about 8 years and it has a real good format to slowly bring me up to speed.

You need to have patience with it as it is a large book, but you can only learn read a couple of chapters, as in choosing only the chapters you need. The chapters are wisely made, as the 2D design is separated from the 3D one and also there are also chapters separated between beginner, intermediate and advanced AutoCAD techniques.
